CHARTER OF ACUPUNCTURE WITHOUT BORDERS

Article 1 AWB has no political, religious or philosophical affiliations, and carries out its programs with strict respect to human rights.

Article 2AWB intervenes at the request of the country concerned, in full compliance with its laws and with deep respect for the local culture, which alone can ensure true exchange and genuine complementarity.

Article 3 AWB aims to promote the self-reliance of healthcare facilities in developing countries by offering, on a voluntary basis, basic training in acupuncture and the necessary acupuncture supplies, together with follow-up and evaluation.

Article 4 Any administrative unit that accepts the terms of this Charter and makes a commitment to their enforcement may become a recognized AWB Center.

Article 5 The right to use the name “Acupuncture Without Borders” (AWB) or “Acupuncture Sans Frontières” (ASF) is subject to agreement by the Board of Acupuncture Without Borders International (AWB/ASF), in accordance with the articles and regulations of AWB International.

Article 6 All AWB Centers are entirely responsible for their own administration and fully liable for their own actions.

Article 7 AWB Centers commit to full financial transparency.

Article 8 Volunteer acupuncture practitioners and all members of AWB agree not to seek any financial profit from their function within AWB.

Article 9 All AWB Centers agree to abide by the present international Charter in accordance with the laws and regulations of their respective countries.
